UV Advanced Oxidation Process
State-of-the-art CFD simulations for optimized lamp deployment and decomposition rate
UV advanced oxidation process is a water treatment method by utilizing a chemical reaction of UV with ozone (O3) or hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), which produces OH radicals to oxidize organic substances and decompose them into H2O and CO2 eventually.
The oxidizing power of OH radicals is 120kcal/mol. Therefore, almost all organic substances can be decomposed by advanced oxidation process. Since the substances get decomposed into H2O, O2, and CO2, it will produce no secondary waste.
Features
● Efficient and safe way of decomposing toxic substances
● No industrial waste generated: Realization of zero emission
Applications
● Decomposition of organochlorine compounds and toxic substances such as DXNs, PCB, etc.
Application examples
● Treatment of leachates from final disposal plants.
● Treatment of toxic substances in waste water discharged from a plant.
● Treatment of organochlorine compounds in underground water (ex. TCE, etc.).
