Safe and effective disinfection with no chemical residue

In these years, UV disinfection is gathering more and more attention in the food and beverages industry for soft drinks, alcohols, canned foods, ete. because of its effectiveness, safety, and ease of installation.

Features

We offer various options to enhance safety and reliability

● On/off sensor for UV lamps: Alarming will appear on the control panel when there is a UV lamp failure.

● Leakage alarm: Alarming will appear on the terminal inside the control panel when there is a leakage.

● 360-degree UV intensity sensor: UEX series has an option for a UV intensity sensor, which can perform precise monitoring against all the UV lamps deployed inside the UV reactor.

Applications

● Disinfection in manufacturing soft drinks, beer, dairy products, condiments, sugar, etc.

UV disinfection for each step of manufacturing STERITRON UEX STERITRON UEX STERITRON OF STERITRON STN ADXL ・ NDXL

1… Raw water

UV disinfection systems can often be seen piror to the dechlorination of water by active carbon filtration and are being more and more used at the point of water intake at food and beverage plants in recent years. UV disinfection can overcome the known drawbacks of chlorine sterilization such as the ineffectiveness against spore-forming bacteria and heterotrophic bacteria and makes a comprehensive microbial control possible, which is in accordance with the philosophy of HACCP.

2…Water tank

There is always a risk of microorganisms reproducing inside a tank of dechlorinated water. Water sterility can be maintained by having UV radiation inside the tank.

3…Liquid sugar (Tank)

When liquid sugar is stored in a tank, microorganisms can proliferate on the top side of the tank when condensed and the surface of the water-added liquid. In view of quality control, it is insufficient just to disinfect the microorganisms reproduced in the tank at the later stage. UV can be radiated inside the tank to keep the sterility effectively and efficiently.

4…Liquid sugar (Inline)

Inline UV disinfection systems for liquid sugar are mainly employed to prevent deterioration caused by heat-resistant soil bacteria, such as Bacillus subtilis, etc. Beverage and sugar manufacturers are often using UV systems for the purpose.

5…Rinse water for containers

Sterility of the inside surface of a container is as important as sterility of the finished product. In addition to the conventional rinsing by chlorine water, enhanced sterility can be secured by disinfecting the rinse water by UV.

6…Container surface

Bacteria in air and on container surface can be disinfected in an instant at the last step of container transferring system with no chemical residue.

7…Bottle caps

UV disinfection can be used against heat-resistant bacteria on the inside surface of bottle caps.

8…Cooling water

Even when sufficent microbial control measures are taken for finished products and packaging materials, contamination can occur if microbial control for recirculated cooling water is overlooked. UV radiation can effectively disinfect the water and reduce the amount of slime generated inside the cooling water tank.

9…Waste water

UV disinfection produces no chemical residue and thus are environmentally friendly compared to chlorine sterilization. It is also getting popuplar in municipal sewage treatment projects.
